The Egg, The Womb, The Head and The Moon
Over nine months (purposefully mirroring the duration of pregnancy) a huge range of women worked on this on-line, interdisciplinary arts project. We've produced moving and powerful art and texts - by artists, poets, performers, photographers, and academics exploring 'the maternal'.
It's been really inspiring to work with visual artists on this amazing project. And I particularly love the passionate artistic commentary that is such a feature of our project website - check it out!
We held an exhibition of our a small fraction of our work at ArtsMill in Hebden Bridge. Here's a review by art critic Rebecca Baillie.
Contributors to this wonderful project include:
Sally Barker, Mo Brown, Amy Dignam, Bird Jones and Heald, Frances Earnshaw, Rachel Fallon, Jasmine Gauthier, Janet Griffiths, Juliet Guiness, Kaye Heyes, Tracey Kershaw, Rebecca Lupton, Christina MacRae, Char March, Paula Mc Closkey, Paula Chambers, Tabitha Moses, Adele Myers, Ruthy Rabbit, Helen Sargeant, Lena Simic, Ellen Storm, Eti Wade, Teresa Wilson
