                                  Find Your Talent Programme

In 2010 I took part in a really inspiring programme with the national Find Your Talent initiative.

22 writers were selected to work with the internationally-renowned storyteller Pat Ryan.  We were teamed up with 22 Primary School teachers and also 10 librarians to work on a huge variety of writing and storytelling projects across the Morley area of Leeds.  I worked with 4-year-olds (and their teacher) in Blackgates Primary School - using story-telling and visual arts, including puppet making,
to help the children understand what makes stories tick, and to help them create, memorise and perform their own stories.  See our
illustrated report on our collaboration.  It was a real privilege to be on this excellent programme, and to be able to learn from and share skills with, such a great group of practitioners - and a terrible blow when the Tory Govt abolished the programme, despite it's superb track record.

                                  Morley Literature Festival

As a result of Find Your Talent (see below), I worked - through Morley LitFest - with disabled children at a high school in Leeds and also in several primary schools in 2011.
